I have been so blessed these past couple of weeks.
I spent well over 90 hours working in two weeks time, getting the bus routes ready and set up and all the kiddos entered into the system. On the Monday before school started I went and ran my route that afternoon. IT WAS HOT. So when I got home Adam and I got to talking about it. I would have to get Bella up about 5am and feed her. That would put her being hungry again about 7 or 7:30, right in the middle of my route. We had talked about his mom coming in, but that is a lot to ask for someone to be here at 5:30 every morning. Then after running the route it was determined how hot is was and she can't be in the heat due to her kidney medicine, so again we were at the sitter issue. I wouldn't be bringing home any money if we were to pay for a sitter, that is if we could find one for 4 hours a day, split into 2 hour increments. So we decided I would just stay home. Adam started for BNSF the week before all this took place so we had been discussing me stayin home eventually anyway, just happened to be sooner than we thought. :-)
Bella and I are both lovin' it. We play all day, take naps whenever we want :-), and do what we want.
I was given 150 lbs of tomatoes last Saturday so I spent Sunday afternoon and Tuesday morning getting them all worked up. I ended up with 14 qts & 2 pts of Salsa, 17 qts & 2 pt of Spagetthi sauce, 16 pts of Chili Base and 18 pts of Pizza Sauce. It will be nice this winter. I am still hoping to do some more apples this fall. Mainly into apple butter. We made a bunch earlier with free apples but we have went through quite a bit of it already. The canning days are about over I have a feeling, but next summer we will do it all over. So far this year we have done apples, apple pie filling, apple butter, strawberry jam, peaches, blueberries, salsa, spaghetti sauce, salsa, chili base, pizza sauce, apricot jam, I think that is it..LOL
Time to start my day. Not much going on for the day, just relaxing in this BEAUTIFUL weather. It just makes me look forward to Fall even more. Can't wait to be outside in the cool breeze wearing a sweatshirt or light jacket.
